Autograf is making big waves in the electronic underground, but the Chicago trio is rooted not in music, but in visual arts. Comprising Jake Carpenter, Louis Kha and Mikul Wing, Autograf was originally an outlet for visual artists. Those creative leanings remain a core part of the Autograf experience. Even as the trio is what the Chicago Tribune calls an “enigmatic and dreamy house group,” they include plenty of visual elements, including art installations and performance tools. The result is something extraordinarily eye- and ear-catching.
