Named for owner Constantine Zahoudanis, the 2023 Cuvée Constantine is a delicious GSM blend (52% Grenache, 31% Syrah, 17% Mourvèdre). “We choose from the cellar the best barrels that will add their strengths to the blend,” says Demetria Estate — “Some treble notes, some bass notes, all blending together into a balanced sound.” And what a fine orchestral piece it makes!
Flavors of dried apricot, fruit leather, cigar box, and blackberry jam delight the taster on the first sip of this unique blend.
The Greek name Constantine means “steadfast” or “constant,” so it’s no surprise that Demetria’s reputation is also steadfast. Grown, produced and bottled by Demetria Estate, the Cuvée Constantine ($65) is a special red wine to enjoy to the max.
Visiting Demetria is a marvelous experience. Reserve a tasting with winemaker Ryan Roark — or enjoy a 75-minute horseback ride — called Vino Vaqueros — through ranch and vineyard trails in the Santa Barbara wine country.

APTOS COOL
The Aptos Chamber of Commerce put on its annual Community Showcase in September featuring established and new businesses. Many local businesses were featured — and here are just two of them.
Seascape Foods offered the most delicious sandwiches — made with its own bread. This family-run neighborhood market is well-stocked with your daily needs, and it has an excellent deli. Seascape Foods, 16 Seascape Village, Aptos.
Seacliff Surf and Skate, is a new store owned by Nick Hanna. Close to the beach, it’s the ideal spot to rent surfboards, wetsuits, boogie boards, surf gear, and more. It’s also a great place for gifts — Christmas is just round the corner. Seacliff Surf and Skate, 234A Santa Cruz Ave., Aptos.
