Tasting wine at Alfaro Family Vineyards is always an upbeat experience.
And amongst the many different wines made at Alfaro, a well-priced standout is the 2025 “A” Estate Chardonnay at $25. Light straw in color, it has “intense flavors of pear, apple and white peach, followed by a hint of lemon curd and honeyed oak.” Aged for nine months in 20% new French oak, it’s an ideal nectar for summer sipping.
Another lovely wine to try at Alfaro’s Saturday wine tasting is the “A” Estate Syrah ($25). Bursting with notes of “white pepper and cigar-box aromas,” it comes with layers of dark fruits, spice, and stewed plum.
Both these wines will be served at a reception by photographer Mary Altier. The event is to celebrate her photography exhibition at the Aptos Branch Library. She and her husband, John Walker, have traveled the world – with stunning images taken by Altier.
This is an opportunity to not only try these two wines, but also to feast your eyes on Altier’s brilliant photography.
